Loveless fools

It was a Thursday morning. A girl who was sitting at the corner of the room, legs stretched out, straightened up and rubbed her eyes, trying to remove the crusts of sleepiness that still stayed there.

Thirty minutes ago, she was just running around the house like a crazy thing while calculating how many more time she has. It was already six thirty then; she was already late. Finally she put on her white rubber shoes and left home without breakfast.

She and her mother just had a fight the previous night. Her mother had told her not to talk to her nor ask her for allowance unless she is going to apologize. But she was just as annoyed at her mother to walk up to her at all. She had money, though, and she didn't need to ask her for money.

All was okay now. She wasn't late. Earlier, she was just panicking; she could calm down now.

After rubbing her eyes, she retied her hair, trying to include all the itchy baby hair that was all around her face. It was pretty messy because she was such in a hurry earlier. But actually, she felt like a messy thing sitting at the corner of the room that morning.

And actually, she was just as messy inside as she felt like outside.

Her fight with her mother was bothering her. If only her mother just did not enumerate in her face all the things she's done for her, she could've listened to her sermon and apologized.

The second thing was, her best partner in crime. She shocked her how she said it just like that. It was like hearing her favorite band break up - and everyone knows it is not supposed to be announced just like that. She couldn't get over it, and she couldn't take all of it at once. It was not okay; she can't ignore it; her decision was going to change everything.

And the children's book she borrowed from was her only way to forget - even just for a while - all the devastating things happening. Children's book are light and happy. And she needed that.

She's apologized to her mother that night, though. And earlier this afternoon, she was begining to look at her best partner in crime's decision positively. Maybe, it wasn't really going to change everything.

yael./
